Javier Ferrer, CEO of WITRAC, took part in the Valencian Battery Alliance, made up of 23 companies from the Valencian Community, which aspire to attract European funds with energy storage projects for different applications.
The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, highlighted the decision to create a Research Centre for storage solutions, to think about the batteries of the present and those of the future”, which has been christened “Element València”.
The creation of a gigafactory for the creation of batteries, led by Power Electronics, is also envisaged. This macro-project will be used by Spanish car factories and to offer energy storage solutions worldwide.
The creation of the Gigafactory and the Research Centre will involve a joint investment of more than 2,000 million, the creation of 30,000 jobs and the contribution to the growth of the Valencian GDP of 2,500 million per year, both projects driven by public-private partnerships that will be nourished by the arrival of European funds for recovery after the pandemic.
