Grupo Antolin Autotrim, WiTraC and Pepe Abargues (Ford) receive the AVIA 2019 awards

The celebration of the IV Motor CV Night has awarded the companies Grupo Antolin Autotrim (Business Excellence), WiTraC (Innovative SME) and recognition of his career to Pepe Abargues, former director of Human Resources of Ford Spain and who recently joined has retired.

The representatives of the companies have collected their awards in a ceremony that was attended by the Minister of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Employment, Rafael Climent and the Regional Secretary for the Economy, Rebeca Torró.

Precisely, the presence of the authorities has allowed the president of AVIA, Mónica Alegre, to take the opportunity to demand from them the need for a scenario of political stability, legal stability and prudence in their statements on combustion vehicles.

Alegre has recognized that “ political instability drives away investment ” and has assured them that “ if you give us a stable framework of action, we will know how to respond with what we know how to do: create companies, maintain them, create jobs, innovate … in short, create wealth. ”

The president of AVIA has urged the authorities to, in collaboration with the Automotive Cluster and the rest of the agents, “attract a factory of batteries for electric vehicles “. Alegre has acknowledged that it is a struggle between autonomous communities and production centers, but that “ we are prepared because we have our network of Technological Institutes, because the Ford Almussafes factory has announced that it will create a plant to assemble electric batteries and because we have the will of all the agents ”. “But you have to fight it” he acknowledged.

In terms of success, Mónica Alegre has highlighted the launch of the I Cycle of Professional Training for Matriceros and Moldistas that has been able to develop thanks to public-private collaboration and that this course has been launched at IES Almussafes.

This cycle has the financial contribution of AVIA associated companies, as well as the reception of students in their facilities for the entire practical part of the training; the approval of the Ministry of Education as an official training cycle and the support of the IES Almussafes where the classes are being taught.

Mónica Alegre also highlighted the evolution of the Innovation Hub project that AVIA is promoting. “This HUB is for the sector as the Mediterranean Corridor for the economy as a whole and it is fundamental to turn the Valencian Community into an attractive pole of investments in innovation”.

The award for Business Dedication has become a surprise tribute for Pepe Abargues, Director of Human Resources at Ford Spain, until his retirement in April 2019. Abargues has passed through various Ford departments over the course of more 35-year career in the multinational. The jury wanted to highlight its ability to provide the factory with a “ stable work environment and the so-called social peace” which, in turn, has allowed the stable growth of the automotive sector in the Valencian Community.

The IV Motor CV Night has had the sponsorship of Cajamar, the support of Sothis and the collaboration of ekon and Randstad.
